#SH-OF0016 and #SH-OF0017 Helmets

To Fuel Helmet Customers:

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Fuel has decided that certain models: #SH-OF001 in black fail to conform to the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 218, “Motorcycle Helmets.”

Sizes: Large &  XL  (No other sizes apply)

There is a manufacturer date under the comfort liner that should be checked. Production dates are June 2015 - April 2017.

Consequence: In the event of a crash, the helmet may not provide adequate protection to the wearer, possibly resulting in injury.

What you should do:

Check if you have a size Large or X-Large Fuel helmet mode #SH-OF001 with a manufacturer date from June 2015 to April 2017. Check the manufacturer date under the comfort liner inside the helmet to see if the date is between June 2015 to April 2017. Rider safety is our top concern and Fuel Helmets is cooperating fully with the NHTSA.  

If you have an affected helmet, call Fuel at (866) 241-3440, where a pre-recorded message will instruct you on the steps to follow in order to receive a new helmet, free of charge.

If you believe that Fuel has failed or is unable to remedy the defect in your helmet, without charge, within a reasonable period of time (60 days from the date you first contact the dealer for a repair appointment), you may submit a complaint to the Administrator, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 1200 New Jersey Ave., SE, Washington, DC  20590.
